The Dallas Asian American Historical Society presents a vibrant collection of artworks curated by DAAART Collective in honor of Asian & Pacific Islander American Heritage Month.
Featuring 21 emerging North Texan artists, the exhibition, titled “Ginger Roots: Dallas” explores themes of shared commonalities within the Asian Texan diaspora as well as the historic contributions of AAPIs in Texas. Ginger is a bridge across cuisines across the Asian diaspora; it represents the multifaceted struggle of the Asian American experience. Roots boldly refers to Asians’ presence in Texas since the 1800s and their impact on Texas’ history.
From April 26th to May 31st, the Dallas Asian American Historical Society offers a view into the expansive experiences of Asian Texans. Curated by Christina Hahn, Leili Arai Tavallaei, and Kat Lam of DAAART Collective.
